Apricots

The velvety delight

< Back to general view

Description

The apricot is yellow, velvety, fruity, delicious and also very healthy. What makes it such a special fruit is its high content of vitamins and so-called carotenes, a natural dye that is said to have a protective function for the cells as an antioxidant. Through its high copper content, the apricot also has detoxifying effect.

Storage

Generally, it is best to buy ripe fruit, as apricots that are harvested too soon do not ripen later. Try and consume the fruit within one week. Unfortunately, the apricot loses its freshness quickly. If it cannot be avoided, store the apricots in a paper bag in the vegetable drawer of your fridge.
