The apricot is yellow, velvety, fruity, delicious and also very healthy. What makes it such a special fruit is its high content of vitamins and so-called carotenes, a natural dye that is said to have a protective function for the cells as an antioxidant. Through its high copper content, the apricot also has detoxifying effect.
The cherry is one of the most popular fruit, particularly in Europe. In addition to its unique taste, it is also fat-free and very rich in fibre.
The fig is a tasty energy boost that is rich in sugars, protein, minerals and fibres, as well as valuable vitamins.
The pomegranate is low in calories and rich in vitamins and antioxidants. The juicy fruit pulp of its up to 600 seeds tastes refreshingly sweet and tart. This makes it the ideal culinary accompaniment for both deserts and venison.
The broad bean, also known as common bean, is the ideal culinary accompaniment for lamb cutlets and pork filets, but vegetarian dishes with rice, too, are enriched by the broad bean, not just by its amazing taste but it also makes them a visual delicacy.
The taste of fresh hot peppers is similar to that of classic bell peppers, but with a slightly higher level of spiciness, varying from sweet-mild to tangy-spicy to fiery-hot depending on the type. The biochemical substance capsaicin is responsible for the spiciness.
The Sivri pepper is a dark green, particularly long and thin-walled pepper or hot pepper with a high level of spiciness.
Few people know that the courgette is a type of summer squash. Whether it is green or yellow, large or in the mini-edition, the courgette tastes slightly nutty while being pleasantly subdued and mild.
The green bean is a very special type of common bean or string bean. It has more seeds and is very tender, as it is harvested relatively early and its seeds are accordingly smaller.
The pointed pepper has recently enjoyed a stellar career, and with good reason: this type of pepper has a lot to offer both in culinary terms and when it comes to health! Compared to other commercially available bell peppers, the pointed pepper tastes spicier and the red type, in particular, is sweeter.
The Dolma bell pepper is a pointed, thin-walled bell pepper from Turkey. It distinguishes itself through its particularly subtle, gentle taste and quickly takes on the aromas of the stuffing during preparation. The thin skin is ideal for cooking the stuffing quickly without losing firmness.
The Cubanelle pepper is a light green, long, pointed bell pepper with thick, firm fruit flesh whose skin is very easy to peel off particularly after poaching or barbecuing.
